Gryffindor
Gryffindor is one of the four houses of Hogwarts, founded by Godric Gryffindor. It prizes courage, daring, nerve, and chivalry. Its emblem is the lion, its colours scarlet and gold, and its element fire. The house common room lies behind the portrait of the Fat Lady in Gryffindor Tower.
Notable members include Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, Ron Weasley, and Albus Dumbledore. The sorting is carried out by the Sorting Hat, once owned by Godric himself.
